When we work with clients, we spend time understanding in a deep and connected way how you are experiencing your life.
With support and non-judgmental curiosity, we look below the surface. We may examine family-of-origin dynamics, core beliefs clients hold about themselves and where they may have learned them, values they have and how their choices do or do not support those values, and when and how they limit themselves or get in their own way.
In our busy lives, we tend to avoid or not even notice our feelings until they suddenly demand our attention. I will encourage you to mindfully move into these (sometimes uncomfortable) feelings as, when honored and released, they can be fantastic guides.
It is paramount that the relationship between us feels supportive and serves as a container in which you can explore honestly, freely and bravely. It is my first priority to make therapy a space where you feel seen and understood. Meeting this priority factors prominently into the work.

Most men and teen boys were never taught how to deal with what they’re feeling—they were taught to push through it, shut it down, or figure it out on their own.
I work with men and teen boys who feel stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure how to handle stress, anger, anxiety, or pressure. I also work with parents who are trying to reach a son who has shut down, started acting out, or just isn’t himself lately.
In my experience, most people aren’t “broken”—they just haven’t been given the tools to understand and manage what’s going on inside.
My approach is real, straightforward, and practical. I create a space where you can talk openly without judgment or pressure, while learning skills that actually work in everyday life. Using evidence-based approaches like CBT and DBT, I help clients build emotional awareness, improve communication, and respond to life with more control and confidence.
For men, that means no longer carrying everything alone.
For teen boys, it means finally having a place where they can open up.
For parents, it means hope—and a path forward.

I’d been to therapy multiple times before, and after seeing three different therapists, I assumed that talking to a therapist did not work for me. Evolution Counseling was highly recommended by a friend. I reluctantly agreed to try again, assuming it would not work. It was a good choice because I finally received what I needed and I am doing much better now with navigating through life challenges.
Evolution Counseling has been a blessing in my life. I was lost and did not have the knowledge on how to cope with my emotions and past trauma. I am in a much better place now and I am able to function better today now that I have learned to cope appropriately with challenges in life.
I breakout in tears when I think about the help I have received from Evolution Counseling. If it had not been for them, I would have been in a worse place due to the passing of my mother and father.
