- What is intimacy therapy?
- Intimacy-focused therapy addresses desire, sexual communication, body image, confidence, and the emotional experiences that shape physical and emotional closeness.
- Is this individual or couples work?
- Both. Some clients come individually and others as a couple. What matters is where the conversation needs to happen.

- We provide intimacy-focused psychotherapy and education within each clinician's verified scope of training. If specialized certified sex therapy is needed, we will refer.
- What if my partner and I have different levels of desire?
- Desire discrepancy is one of the most common reasons couples seek this work. Therapy focuses on understanding each partner's context and building communication rather than assigning blame.
- Will I have to share explicit details?
- No. You decide what you share. The work moves at your pace and focuses on patterns, meaning, and communication.
- Is this space inclusive of LGBTQ+ clients and relationship structures?
- Yes. The work is respectful and inclusive of all orientations, gender identities, and consensual relationship structures.
- Can therapy help with intimacy after having children?
- Yes. Shifts in identity, exhaustion, body changes, and reduced privacy commonly affect intimacy, and therapy addresses both the practical and emotional layers.
- Can intimacy therapy help after a betrayal?
- Yes. Rebuilding physical intimacy after betrayal usually requires restoring emotional safety first, which the work addresses directly.
- Does intimacy change with age, illness, or medication?

- Yes. Sessions are virtual for clients located in Texas, Colorado, or Missouri.
- Do you bill insurance for intimacy or sexual wellness therapy?
- Evolution Counseling Services does not bill insurance. We are a fee-for-service practice and can provide a superbill you may submit to your plan for possible out-of-network reimbursement. See Rates & Payment for current fees.
- What if only one partner wants to work on intimacy?
- Individual work is still useful. One partner changing how they communicate about needs and boundaries often shifts the relational pattern.
